The Wah-Tut-Ca forest is still a natural wonder. The rugged terrain supports a host of plant and animal life. Of the diverse mixture of hardwood and softwood trees the pines reign. There are two natural varieties of pine trees on the Reservation. The magestic Red Pines stand along the shore of Northwood lake, and in the outer forest the White Pines stand as "Sentinels" guarding things of the spirit. The exact location of the Sentinel Pine is known to very few. It is in the gulf region but not as located on the map. It stands as Chief among its fellow sentinels to remind us of our duty to give leadership in service to all friends and brothers who walk the trails. |

| WAH-TUT-CA LEGENDS | |
Alexander A. Vervaert wrote the following in 1987 about the many legends of Wah-Tut-Ca "It is commentary on the awesome grip Wah-Tut-Ca has on our senses that each wave of campers, staffers, and devotees develops their own imaginative tales and legends about this spectacular place. It serves as an arena of challenge, a bower of tranquillity and an Eden where lifelong loyalties and friendships are made. Wah-Tut-Ca is a significant experience". |
